Shah Rukh Khan made his much-anticipated debut at the Met Gala 2025 on May 5, making waves as the first Bollywood actor to attend the annual haute couture fundraising festival. The Met Gala, an event that draws celebrities from around the world, is regarded as one of the biggest nights in fashion, is being held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
The King Khan, at the Met Gala, donned celebrated designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s all-black ensemble, which featured a single-breasted, floor length, long coat with wide lapels. The Pathaan actor looked stunning as he accessorized his attire with a giant bejeweled ‘K’ and a walking cane.
In an interview with the New York Times, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that he was very shy. He said he is comfortable in his jeans and t-shirts.

Shah Rukh Khan Met Gala 2025: Didn’t Want to Look Like an Airplane!
Sabyashachi Mukherjee, who has designed wedding gowns for Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, and Katrina Kaif, among others, told the media that Shah Rukh Khan didn’t want to wear shoulder pads, saying he didn’t want to look like an airplane. He shared that the Bollywood superstar gave his interpretation of the theme by celebrating the Black male style.
Mukherjee designed Shah Rukh Khan’s court jacket in Murshidabad silk. His attire drew inspiration from a Moghul-style sherwani, black pants, and a black crepe de Chine shirt, which he left open to give a peek of the chains and jewels that included a large chain ‘K’ in diamonds. Khan’s walking stick stood out with a jeweled tiger’s head.
