Katy Perry was one of the six women ready to fly to space as part of Blue Origin rocket’s first all-female crew since 1963. The Roar singer was launched into space on Apr. 14 at about 8.30 am CTD with Lauren Sanchez, Gayle King, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, and Kerianne Flynn.
Perry shared on social media that she has dreamt of going to space for 15 years, and soon that dream will become a reality. “Space is going to finally get glam,” she said. “If I could take up the glam with me, I would do that….we are going to put the ‘ass’ in astronaut.”

Blue Origin New Shepard Flight
The 11th crewed New Shepard flight, NS-31, took off with Katy Perry from Blue Origin’s launch site in West Texas.
Blue Origin, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), said the NS-31 crew is on a mission to challenge their perspectives of Earth. The flight will last about 11 minutes and reach a height of about 65 miles above Earth.
NS-31 flew past the Karman Line, which is the internationally recognized boundary of space that is 100 km above Earth. The passenger section of the rocket will separate from the body and continue floating weightlessly.
