Director Shawn Levy said they had absolute creative freedom, thus Deadpool & Wolverine emerging as the first R-rated feature in the MCU. Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios president, said the first two Deadpool movies, 2016 and 2018, were R-rated.
He highlighted that when Disney acquired it from Fox, the studio clearly stated that it was and would be R-rated. Feige added that it was appropriate for Deadpool to be R-rated, and would have been inappropriate if it wasn’t.
Deadpool & Wolverine is a first for Wolverine in terms of costume a live-action suit that is quite accurate to the blue-and-yellow look in the comics. Jackman had previously donned a full black leather suit in the X-Men movie franchise in the 2000s. This is the first time that Wolverine played on its comic book look – blue-and-yellow.
