R Madhavan and Kay Kay Menon’s The Railway Men – The Untold Story of Bhopal 1984 is still running strong on Netflix for the 28th consecutive week. This limited series has been directed by Shiv Rawail.
It takes viewers to the Bhopal gas tragedy, the world’s worst industrial disaster, which left over 500,000 people in India’s small cities exposed to the deadly gas methyl isocyanate (MIC). More than 2,000 people died, but the death toll is believed to be higher. Reports state that 8,000 people died from gas-related diseases within two weeks of the incident.
The incident occurred on the night of December 3, 1984. More than 40 tons of MIC made it into the atmosphere due to a leaking cylinder. The Netflix limited series celebrates the unsung heroes of the Bhopal gas tragedy who went out of their way to save and protect fellow residents.

There’s action as a thug wants to take advantage of the tragedy but ends up giving a helping hand in the rescue mission.
